Opinions on Wade Pads

I am in the market for a new pad for my horse that had back surgery. I had wanted a CSI pad but just found out that they don't make it with the foam anymore and I am not convinced that the new style would be any better than a 5 star. I have a few 5 stars and have just ordered a new one for my mare, but wanted something a little more cushiony for my gelding who had surgery for kissing spines. I have heard good things about Wade Pads and was curious what they were like and everyone's experiences.

I have a csi wit the felt, and I love it. The csi plate is still the same, the pressure is still dispersed throughout the plate no real pressure points.

I have a Wade and I feel it would be too stiff for what you need. I had 2, but sold one because it actually rubbed white hairs on the withers, there is no give where you would normally pull it up off the withers before cinching. I'm very disappointed for the cost and all the hype I read on them.

If you want real cushiony and soft you could go csi and get the merino wool, it is very expensive, but looks soft, I don't have one but seen it in vegas

You can get a Wade with memory foam. That may help. You also don't have to spend an arm and a leg for them. You can buy them plain jane. They are all I use and I love them. Never had an issue.
