Location: Ainsworth, NE | opinions/observations on Bully Bullion bloodlines please! Not seeing alot of them out there anymore-is that just because newer names are "taking over" or is it because of a training type issue? I realize that each horse is an individual and if you crossed the same mare and stud multiple times each would be a bit different, but in GENERAL what have people noticed?
Is Bully Bullion in the bloodline something that someone would be looking for in a future breeding prospect (if that prospect was conformationally correct, proved himself, ect).

Location: Riding Crackhead. | I have a now 7 yr old mare that I bought from Moody's. Sired by Tera's retired barrel horse Skeet and out of a daughter of Bully Bullion. Yes my mare can be hot and naughty. Some of that is caused by me but when its our turn to run she is very much ready to do her job. She's extremely quick and responsive. If we have any goof ups it's rider error fighting with her responsiveness. If that makes any sense. I absolutely love her. We were stalled across from you at Verndale at the Finals this past year. |

Location: NE Oklahoma | I love mine! He's a grandson of BB. What I have learned from him is that you can't pick on them or fight with them. My gelding is kind of sensitive and didn't really start coming into his own until he was 8. He can be spunky and is ready to go do his job when we run. Talented and gorgeous! |

| I have a BB Grandson - he's out of a BB mare.
He's one of the best horses I have ever owned. Great personality - very sweet and focused, but has spark when it's needed (at a barrel race.)
LOVE LOVE LOVE him! I would like to have several more. |

| I have an own daughter 5 yr old she is great the sweetest thing. Her mare is own daughter of Zevi. She meets you at the gate and wants to be rode. I had a 3/4 brother (Bully side) to her and he was the same way. I have seen some that are kind of querky. My mare is for sale. |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | I want a daughter and keep my eye out for one. Most we have looked at in person or at the sales have either toed in in front and or were parrot mouthed. We have also seen this in the geldings/colts as well. I have seen enough I do wonder if this is a genetic thing. If I find a broodmare, I will give her the benefit of the doubt as long as she is correct and all her babies are correct. I will say I haven't seen grand-offspring with these issues. |

Location: Fort Collins, CO | I have a paternal granddaughter and she has Alamitos Bar on her bottom side. She is spunky, very spirited, and very gritty. But she also was started at 2, then let sit for 3 years and got a princess attitude. When i got her at almost 5 she was a trainwreck! Lots of tough love and now she rides pretty nice now at 8, and i just started entering her in novice horse.
She is gonna be good when she puts it all together and gets consistent and adds speed.
She still spooks a lot, and just needs miles and hauling.
She's beautiful and built great. And i have big hopes for her. Seems like she needs to grow up a lot still, but part of that is her late start. Love her anyways! |

| They are getting fewer inbetween just because of Bully's age and his recent limited number. You also don't see a lot of them because people aren't letting go of them anymore. Especially own daughters of Bully because they are such good producers.
Temperment wise, they aren't for everyone. Mainly because they don't take a beating like a lot of horses will. They will fight back.
I personally don't think you can go wrong with Bully in the pedigree. Especially on the bootem. But then again, I've been around more own get and grandget than I can count. He's been a staple in my parents breeding program since his first year in the breeding shed so they were all I ever had growing up.
Cross a Bully daughter on DTF and they are unbelievable. |

I would blame the dam of these horses and not Bully. I have no idea how many own get we've had over the years. 30? 40? Add grandget to it and who knows what the numbers are? Only one was ever parrot mouthed and hers was caused from getting kicked in the jaw at the breeders when she was a baby (confirmed by x-rays).
We had one mare that did toe out very slightly on one foot. I blamed it on the dam because she was by Hempen and Hempen's didn't have the straighest wheels a lot of times. There was only ever one that was ugly out of all of them.
But I could be wrong. Maybe the band of mares we've always had have just been something that always worked on Bully? |

Location: You never know where I will show up...... | I personally love them! Have ridden 2 horses that were out of Bully Bullion daughters....one is our FWF stud and the other was a paint mare I won a lot on in the futurities in 2008.
I also had a Bully daughter last year that was really nice but I didn't end up getting to run her much because I sold her. Shortly after I sold her she stepped on a nail and abcessed her hind foot, so she was out for most of the futurity season. But she did get a couple of 1D checks at a couple of the late fall ones last year.
I'd sure like to have another one to run. |

Location: Oklahoma & Texas | I had an own daughter of BB just sold her in foal to SBL to Crystal Nichols.(foal will be for sale likely)...loved her..best tempermant on a mare I've been around...considering shes been a broodmare 6 years she has great manners was my farriers favorite to trim lol and kids could handle her...only sold her because my work has been taking me away from the ranch so much I didnt want to be breeding as much the next couple years and if Crystal tires of her I'll be buying her back....but she came off track sound and confirmationally perfect...gave me an awesome futurity prospect last year who by the way I saddled this weekend and cinched up without a flinch shes 10months old..never had a saddle or anything binding on her before...I would own 100 of them...the mare has been the best momma a heavy milker and easy to breed and foal out...the filly is going to be my personal prospect...that mare will stay between Crystal and I as she's a gem...the filly I have out of her I will say has a calm and willing personality loves people and attention...not afraid of anything and has speed to spare... i'll post a pic of her saddled this weekend...I'm still shocked at how well she handled being saddled the first time..not even a snort!

Location: MN | we have had many bb offspring. my current mare i run is by bb she does toe in and is parrot mouth. we have had probally 10 bb offspring she is the only one that has those traits. special effort was parrot mouth and not very correct on the front end. all we have had have been bay except two chestnut and one gray. i currently also have a gol out of a bb mare and a knud with wings out of a bb mare. they are very differant the gol is more forward and hotter the kww is very laid back. i love bb

Location: Oklahoma | Love love love them!! Have 3 daughters. Two we are crossing on our Perks Firewater Flit stallion and the other one is going to be a futurity horse next year I hope. Have toyed with the idea of bringing one of the daughters we bred, back to the riding arena - since shes only 6 ... but shes bred so nice, I'm anxious to see her babies - we'll see.
I think it depends on what they are crossed on .. I hear all the time they dont like beat on -- but mine all seem to be people pleasers and havent "needed" beat on ... theyre out of all different kind of mares too ... dashing cleat, easily smashed, go for bugs.
I think theres not as many because A) Bully is 30 this year and hasnt stood for two years and B) no one will sell them. I buy every daughter I can afford for our broodmare band.

Location: Feeding those that need me | We really enjoy our BB's. I didn't used to be a big fan of them since I had a bad experience with one or two, but have added a few to our program and I am really enjoying them. They are all out of exceptional mares, though.
We have a son out of a Cherokee Indian daughter. The Cherokee Indian's tend to be pretty hot and hard headed themselves, but he couldnt be further from that. He is very, VERY quiet and has to be pushed pretty hard to get moving. I love that about him. When you ask him to fire, you better be hanging on though because he has a ton of motor behind him. We have a friend of ours riding him at the moment and he has gotten a great report card so far. He will be run this year before standing at stud. He got a late start but is really coming along nicely.
We have a grandson - a son of Special Effort out of a daughter of BB. Much of the same disposition, in fact, they are stalled next to each other because they are both pretty quiet. Contender tends to try really, really hard to please. He gets his feelings hurt if he dissapoints you and he tends to be sensitive and above average intelligence. He never got the chance to run barrels, so I can't give input on what he rides like.
And then we have one mare that I purchased a few months ago, out of a daughter of MSM. She is very quiet as well, but can really lay it down when asked for it. She can be quirky but I think that's a habit from old owners moreso than her personality. She likes to play "games" and honestly, she is probably smarter than me. One of her favorite games is "lets see if she can catch me today". She usually outsmarts me. She is wicked quick and athletic and very forgiving of her not so gracious rider most of the time. I have not made up my mind whether to continue running her this year or breed her. |

| We have three at the moment, an own son(5), a granddaughter(1), and a great granddaughter(6). They are by far my favorite bloodline. They will try to do anything you ask them to do, but they cannot be forced into it. They all meet you at the gate ready to work. As far as them being hot, only one out of the three is more on the hot side. And actually she is the one with BB farthest back on her papers , a granddaughter of Bully's on Fire out of an own daughter of FG. She just has more of a go-go attitude, but will not pass up a barrel. Before I ran across the BB bloodline, I wouldn't have anything,but a cutting bred. Now, I would have a barn full of BB's if I could! |
