Does anyone have any clue as to what fencing costs per foot for web wire with a slick wire top strand?  Or for horse wire with a slick wire top strand?  I need to get some fencing redone and I honestly don't know who to call.  In in NE Texas around the Commerce area.  Does anyone know a fence builder in this area that is reasonable?

Expensive as all get out I can tell you that.  We have priced some stuff but thankfully my hubby is a wizard with a welder so we are buying pipe and he is going to do pipe.  Cheaper.  Part of it we have to do with non climb fence and man that will be expensive.  My husband has the quotes but all I know is our small place was going to cost thousands to do.

We live south of Fort Worth and did it ourselves. For 3 acres it cost us around $3500-$4000 and that was getting our post for almost nothing.

Here is a link to everything we have done to our place so far... It has pictures of our fence.

That's about what I figured.  Mine isn't falling down yet, and only have about 5 acres to do, but I know it's going to hurt!  LOL  My front 5 acres is all pipe pens....wich I could afford to do the same to the back!

I just had a 5 strand, 3 cold , 2 hot, Kencove coated wire fence put in.  200  4" x 6 1/2' line posts @4.99 each. Coated wire and materials $2500, another $800 for H corner posts and materials.  labor to install 1.15/ft.  Excellent fence guy but in the Houston area.  Materials priced out about the same as a wire fence, maybe a little less.  Approximately 2100 feet of fence.

Very nice!  Hadn't considered this option, but that sure is nice looking.  I may have to look into something like that up here.  Thank you for your input!

I was quoted 1.25 per foot if you built the corners and supplied all materials.
I ended up doing it myself and hiring a day worker. I just couldnt swing that as much as I needed done.

My husband and i own a fencing business in NE, If your willing to consider something similar to rodeomoms go with hi-tensile wire.  A 4000' roll retails for about $120-125 in our area.  Ours is either 4 or 5 strand depending on the pasture/pen with 2-3 hot.  We bought a very good charger, cost us about $800 ten years ago and have only had to replace a $2 fuse in it since.  It charges 20 miles of fence with no problem.  Of course there are a lot more affordable chargers out there.  You will also have to invest in insulators (.25-.50 each).  Our posts are set 20' apart which is farther than normal, so that also figures into over all cost. If you have other questions ill be glad to help.  Our horses have been behind this for several years and have had very limited mantance and no serious injuries.

Ten years ago we paid $9.95 a foot for 2 7/8 pipe/ horse wire fence. It is 5' tall with posts every 10 feet. Only has the pipe on the top....no center or bottom rail. Paid $800 for each 14' gate.
