...I need one to do chores!

Despite the tiny shuffle I have adopted to cross all the ice in the drive to get to the barn, I took a spill tonight and cracked my head (and posterior...not in that order) on the ice. Not sure if the ice cracked or my skull!

Record amounts of snow combined with a day of slightly above freezing weather makes for ice EVERYWHERE! Horses are locked in the barn but I can't GET to the barn without having to cross lots of it. Takes me about 5 minutes to navigate the very slight incline to the barn about 150 feet across the drive.

I'm getting to old for this CRAP!!!!!!! and I need one of these > to do chores!

Who wants to wake me up in a couple of hours?

I ride with a helmet, but it has been suggested that I should wear the helmet 24/7 by many friends. At least you can blame the ice for your fall. I'm just clumsy and lack in grace....!!!

Hope you feel better. Sending you some sunshine!

I'll send bubble wrap to break your fall! I'm in the same boat, so could you send the extra back? Lol

I'm in the same boat.  I'm thankful for the many layers of coveralls I wear.  I shuffled across the driveway the other day, made it safely, was on what is my lawn and it was also solid ice which I didn't realize until I was laying flat looking at the sky and could hear my husband chuckling.  I promise to not complain of the humidty, flies and mosquitos this summer.

They have shoe covers with spikes on so you can walk on ice, easy to put on and to remove, any be try amazon and get a pair, I have seen them for less then 40.

Hope you are going to be O.K. So feel your frustration. Here in Ohio, it keeps warming up during the day and refreezing at night and top it off with some freezing rain. Right now it is almost 50 degrees but there was ice everywhere this morning. So frustrating.

So sorry you fell.  I stepped out on the back deck of my house the other day not realizing we had gotten some freezing rain in the night and fell right on my rear too.  It happens fast and hurts!!!  Be careful out there and like someone else suggested the ice cleats work awesome.

I saw these a week or so ago in the Clearance section at TSC. Thought that we didn't need them as we have lots and LOTS of snow....no ice..THEN. Sigh.

And I WILL be complaining about the heat, humidity and bugs come summer. I'd rather fall and hit my head than be miserable for months at a time. lol

I hear ya. We were out looking at travel trailers and my foot slipped, I almost cracked my noggin on the fifth wheel hitch. My entire drive way is all Ice top to bottom. We could hold the ice skating olympics here. I told my SO I would feed as I couldn't be picking his hiny off the ice and dragging him to the house. It's slicker than snot out here.
