Can it cause diarrhea?? I started my horse on the loading dose 7 days ago and by this past Saturday his manure was cow pies. He is acting completely normal and the detox is the only thing that changed in his diet. I stopped yesterday with it. Just waiting to see if he gets back to normal in a day or 2.

yes it can. I have used it on several horses now. Most have been fine. But my gelding that I have now gets the runs super easy often for no apparent reason. he get loose on the loading dose now I just give him one scoop 2x a day. If that is too much 1 1x a day. I love A.E.

I never had issues with diaherra, but I had to stop giving it to my palomino gelding because for some reason while he was on it....he would have issues urinating. Once I stopped the supplement, and waited a week he was fine.

That is what I was giving him as a loading dose....1 scoop 2 x a day. I may try him on it again once it clears up but only 1 scoop once a day.

If not, then I will have an almost new 9lb bag for sale!!

Was he urinating too much or not enough?

It was almost like he was struggling, he would stretch out and and attempt to urinate...but it looked like only a few drops would come out. Then he would go back to eating. We had him checked for beans, none at the time I was feeding him.

I feed AE to my finished mare currently

My gelding did that this fall ... $500 later at the vet because he got colicky - turned out a urinary tract infection. Crazy stuff! Glad yours was able to clear up on its own!

Ahhhh Now that scares me!! LOL, but my best friends gelding did the same when he was on AE. And she had the vet check his bladder and he checked out fine, because she figured it was a bladder infection. Couldn't figure out why he was doing that, so she pulled him off AE and he was urinating fine after a week/2 weeks.
