Awards and trophy tack

My husband and I just became district directors for NBHA TN06. We are looking into awards and trophy tack, including saddles. What are the best places to get trophy tack? What does everyone like receiving for an award or trophy? Any and all thoughts appreciated!

This is my 3rd year as director for NC02 and every year we've gone with different companies depending on the money we have at the end of the year. We've done saddles from Corriente, Alamo, and Pro-Rider and the Pro-Riders seem to be the best quality and most liked over the other two. For awards tack, we've used Flying W Ranch, Alamo, Deuces Wild, and Mandy's Custom Tack. From what I can remember, I've been able to get tack sets for $175-$225 and Bronc Halters for like $75.
You'll just have to do some research at the end of the year and find what companies fit your budget. Companies like KO Trading and Custom Tack usually are pretty reasonably priced but from my experience the quality isn't always there
(just depends on what you order
).
Good luck!

This is my 4th year to do awards for my NBHA district. I've learned that quality is better than quantity. First year I did awards I bought from a company that sells mass produced items. I was a recipient of one of the awards and the 2nd time I used it.. the bottom fell out of it. I learned my lesson and began using tack/awards made by individuals. This past year I designed a yard flag made out of burlap and had a friend of mine make it. I don't have a picture right now to post, but I will post one later today. The flags were a big hit. One other company I will recommend is Brandt Blanket Company. They do not have a website that I can find, but they do have a Facebook page. They offer much more than just blankets. If you contact them, they will send their awards listing sheet with prices. I plan to use them this year for some of my awards. Monogramming is included on most items.

^^^This! I received a trophy saddle once that is such poor quality I refuse to even display it in my living room. I would've much rather been given the $200 that the saddle probably cost, or received something of equal value that was of usable quality.
