Just wondering how many of you all have used it?
Thinking its worth a try for under $200 vs. $800 for Marquis.
I have read Marquis has had lots of relapse, and have seen good feedback with the Oroquin.  Good, bad and the ugly please.

Used it on mine last Feb...my mare could barely walk and had virtually no balance or sense of where her feet were. In hindsight, she'd had it for at least 2 years, so it was unknown how well it would work for her.

6 weeks later she was recovered, legged up and running in the top of the 2D. It took her a couple of runs to get her confidence back, but ran in the top end of the 2D at a Barrel Bash, then mid 2D all 3 days of the Bonus Race Finals. Not only that, but she was substantially less marish, much happier, much easier to haul. I was very happy with the results.

Mine relapsed on oroquin and I did Marquis for the second round and that's what knocked it out for good.

I think its worth a try… all horses respond differently. what doesn't work for one horse works for another. Some vets are also doing IV diclazuril and having good luck.

I have been reading about this EPM for the past month now, and that's what I am seeing. What works for one, might not work for another.
I was also thinking of starting him on a immune supplement. Did you guys do that as well? Maybe vitamin e?

Yes you need to boost the immune system. Either with increased vitamin E or an immune supplement. The treatment, whichever you choose, kills of most of the Protozoa but not all of then. Enough where the horses immune system can handle killing off the rest. I feed smartpak immune ultra pellets to mine.

I am debating on trying Rebalance for $79 a bottle for roughly a 30 day supply but you need to treat for 60-90 days compared to only 10 days for Orogin (Oroquin-10) for $150. I don't know for sure that she has EPM but she came from the south and has a few signs that could be EPM so I just want to treat with something fairly affordable to see if it helps and then I can go from there since just to test for it costs as much to treat so why not just treat just encase?

That's just what I ordered!  The smartpak ultra pellets. Again there are so many out there I wasn't sure which one, but this makes me feel a lot better. Do I need to add vitamin E to it?

ReBalance will only suppress the disease.  If your horse responds to the ReBalance treatment, they will still need to be treated with something stronger.

Well I ordered my Orogin and SmartProtect. I really hope this helps with the few signs I have seen. She still clocks top of the 1D and would seem normal to most people but I can tell her right hind leg kind of seems like it doesn't hit the ground quite right like she isn't sure where the ground is before the foot hits the gound. She also seems touchy and irritable about some things.

Thanks! Yeah I was wanting to use it to see if she responded before going to a more expensive treatment but then I found out Orogin is only $150 so I went with that instead. :)

That was the same feeling that I got with my gelding.  He was clocking and winning, unless he slipped down in deep ground.  It felt like his left back leg would just go out from underneath him.  Vet after vet wanted to inject something else and never considered EPM. I finally turned him out for a few months and it wasn't until we brought him up for another check that we figured out what was going on.  His left back leg had lost circulation and was cold to the touch.  We did the 5 day IV Diclazuril treatment and he's recovered as well as I could have hoped for all we went through with him.

That leg swells a little once in awhile but there isn't any kind of injury so I wonder if maybe a lack of circulation has to do with it? I really hope I caught it quick enough and she can be 100%.

Should I start the SmartProtect before the Orogin or at the same time? How soon should I start seeing results?

I also did the Oroquin 10 on my gelding last summer. We then followed it up with a jar of decoquinate powder which lasted roughly 28 days. For two months I gave 10,000 IU's/day of Vit E followed by 5,000 IU's/day for 4 months. I bought the Vit E from United Vet Equine because they were the only place that sold it in such a high dose. Believe it was an MVP product.
