We have an older mare (24) that was bitten by a copperhead on the back of her left front fetlock in the fall.  It apparently has caused either necrosis or infection in the tendon/sheath and despite DMSO sweats/confinement to small flat paddock/antibiotics/anti-inflammatories it has not responded to treatment.  She will be sound and comfortable with no swelling at times...then it will flare back up.  Clearly it is not going to heal this way.  That area does not have a good blood supply(tendons just dont), so we are considering trying Regional Perfusion.

Does anyone have any experience with this?  Cost?  Success?
