I rode an own son of Mr. Dark Jet. His name was Mr. Dark n Easy. He was older, but very consistent and had amazing style. Big stride, very deceiving. Turned amazing fast and dropped hard. He is/was a cool horse. I just loved him and he wasn't even mine. He still ran in the 1D, these videos are from last summer when he was 19.

I owned a black daughter for years. Everyone was a fan but no one would buy her lol. I just sold her for pocket change this spring at 21yrs old. She is due in May for a full sibling to one of the nicest horses I have ever trained. His name was Mystic Promises, but due to a pelvis break he is on pasture rest for a couple years. I am planning to get his full brother Just Another Promise going on barrels this summer. They are both really talented. I am a huge lover of that bloodline, but I like the Three Oh's so it makes sense.

I am a HUGE fan of Mr Dark Jet horses! Came dang close to driving out to WY to pick up the own daughter that our BB just sold. I have a 5 year old in by a Mr Dark Jet son, Mostly Dark. The Mr Dark Jets are the sort of barrel horses that I want to swing a leg over. I've never heard anyone complain about a lack of bone on one. They can be a bit more coarse built if you compare them to say a DTF, but I really can't think of one that I've ever come across who you might look at and say that they couldn't be dang nice. The Mr Dark Jet mares can be a little gritty early on, but so long as you make sure and guide them with a firm, yet patient hand, I've never had a bad one.

My first MDJ horse came into my life in the mid 90's. She was track broke and had been in the broodmare field for a couple seasons when I got her. When she was at her peak, that mare was 16 HH and #1375. She made into a sure enough nice horse, who won me a ton. The best part was, my niece at 5 years old could cruise her through in the PeeWee's and then I could turn around and come sending her from the back of the alley and win. They're just tough as nails sorts of horses. I know of many a breeder in the 90's who used to chase after MDJ daughters as broodmares. This was mine... http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/murf+dawg

that's all great to hear. Mine is 4 and well over 16 hands. He looks like he is floating on the ground when he moves. And he is like a big giant puppy dog!!

Mr. Dark Jet was on the leading list of maternal grandsires of winning barrel horses for many years. Most of them are natural barrel horses. One of my favorite lines, too. He is found in many of the top futurity horse's pedigrees through the years. I think Suzanne Moseley's great horse, Mr. Top Hat was by Mr. Dark Jet if I remember right. Wannagofast's stallion, Sean Roy, is out of a Mr. Dark Jet mare and the few colts of his that have gone to the barrel pen have made sure enough tough barrel horses. I love the pedigree of the dam of your colt.

I will see if I can get pictures to post of mine. Ramona (Dark Promises) was my mare. Ransom (Mystic Promises) is the one running barrels and the wooly guy is Rango (Just Another Promise). He had 30 days on him in these pics. Mare was 15 hands tops and super soggy built. She had a beautiful head and a "queen like" attitude but loved people. I will miss her, she was a fun one to say we owned.

I know this is a little off topic but I have a cousin that named her daughter "Just Another Promise".  Yes she is human, yes she does drugs.
