I was thinking about buying a slide in camper for my truck since i will be pulling a bumper pull trailer.
Tell me the good, bad and ugly if you have ever owned one...please!

We had the rodeo Capri's on everything we drove, back in the day. I really liked ours!!! It had the cedar lining, fridge, sink and shower, and an AC that kept it cold enough to hang meat in there! Greatest sleep ever!!!
But I also hated it!!! If I needed to buy more than a few bags of feed or bring home hay or anything I didn't want on the floor of the camper I had to borrow another truck, or hook on the trailer and haul it in there. That was a definate pain in the rear. Ours was the over sized one, and you couldn't see behind you without the wide view mirrors, so backing out of parking places was also loads of fun~
One year at the NHSRA finals in Gillette WY the temp was never under 100 the first five days, and never over 50 the last five days, and those last five days was solid rain... I felt like a serial killer attitude would have been an improvement over the way I felt at the time...
Now that we have the living quarters, I cannot imagine doing that again!!!!

Be sure to consider how much the camper weighs and the weight is up high so that will affect how your truck handles. You don't want to overload your pickup and add a trailer in the mix. Wind can be a factor also!
I had a Sportsmen that weighed about 2,000 pounds on a 97 HD F250 and was glad I did not pull a trailer with it. I would not go with a big camper unless I had a dually and probably airbags all the way around. Something that helps with handling too are Airtabs,

, they make a big difference on our trailers and I know they work even better on RVs and campers. Campers can be a pain to put on the truck and unload. It does tie your truck up as mentioned above. Mine was comfortable for me and the dog, any more people and it would have been tight! It worked well for living in for short periods of time, but I was glad to sell it and not have to haul it home!
