I am from South Carolina, I ride cutting horses but want to get into barrel horses some. I looked and didn't see any trainers in SC. Is there anyone that could help or point me in the right direction of getting started. Rode cutting horses for years and before that western pleasure and english so I know NOTHING about barrel racing, just always wanted to try it out.
Thank you :)

Try Google for a local club. Or look up nbha and find the district where you live. Ask some of your cutting friends, surely they know someone.

Look under the Barrel Racers> under it you will see Barrel Racers Directory. When you click it you can search for barrel racers in SC. I live in Western NC and I know how hard it is finding a barrel trainer around here close. But you can try talking to different people, like a vet or a farrier cause they seem to know everyone with horses. Hope this helps and I hope you do well in barrel racing

If you can't find a trainer, there are several tips on barrel racing and how to start on you tube, and several books at the library.

what part of SC do you live in? There are several highly successful barrel racing professionals in SC. There are also some who's names are not as big, but are great trainers and instructors, who will treat you and your horses right.
