| How marketable would a prospect out of an own daughter of Smart Little Lena (homozygous tobiano) by a straight running bred stallion ( along the lines of Lions Share of Fame, Darkelly, Cowboys Cartel, etc)? Looking for opinions on a hypothetical situation only. Thanks. |

| Tried out a double bred top and bottom grand baby (what yours would be) AQHA well started baby for 3500.
Going solely on the SLL I would say less since yours is APHA. The stallions you are looking at I would see if they are APHA approved, and what APHA colts out of that stud are bringing.
There are lots of SLL grand babies out there

Location: Benton City, WA | I personally would be interested in a prospect bred like that. Only because you are crossing the SLL on run though... I like SLL get but wouldn't want all cowbred, in general. |

| I understand not wanting straight cow which is why I would be interested in crossing on something straight run with size. I've heard a lot of people saying the paint part would be a problem. Why would that be a downside if the foal was regular registry paint? I personally like a paint over a QH, but I know I have a hard time finding a paint with a pedigree that I like. |

Because, generally speaking, Paint Horses do not bring as much solid colored Quarter Horses. |

| You may like paints, but there are more people that like quarter horse, so there is more demand just in numbers.
A lot of people don't like dealing with APHA as they are more expensive.
There are less incentives to run APHA horses.
Less APHA horses have been proven
Some of the stallion owners will not register their stallions with APHA
