Where is the best place to locate some? I dont need it yet but I may. My one broodmare I bought in foal is progressing a bit rapidly and I had the vet check.... She isnt going to make even her earliest foal date
(live covered for a period of days
). Foal has dropped, she is super soft at her tailhead area, important parts are lengthing and her bag doubled in 4 days. Hoping she holds on just another week but I want that stuff on hand. Vet thinks itll be early but within a safe time period not to be premie. Going to try and nab some foal milk replacer
(just a bit I dont think Ill need it either mare has good bag
).... I think im just going to buy babies haha.... I want one Watch Red Song foal out this bay mare then im on a strict buy babies only policy! Mare was foundered and I think is to heavy to haul 5 plus hours to foal at the vets so we are taking this one day, one week at a time... Vets are on alert if needed
(local ranch vet and good but long distance vets
).

Most vets carry synthetic colostrum. If you need to use it have the vet come out & tube your foal with it. we have had to use it a few times & it worked great

I will shoot my closet vet a email about that I never thought to ask when I was talking to him. I found some in a paste and some a decent milk replacer too. Just to have handy.
