Location: East Tennessee | I am trying to help a friend out. She is looking for a trainer in Texas or Oklahoma to take a stud colt that has been on the track. Prefer a reining trainer but also need a barrel trainer. Will need excellent references. Thank you. |

However, he does require the horse be there 90 days @ $800/month. But I hear he is worth it. He is located near the Melbys in Burneyville, Oklahoma (south-central, near Red River). |

Location: Gainesville, TX | I recommend both of my trainers, Misty Michelle Taylor, in Richland Springs, TX, and I second Liana DeWeese. Both do barrels and will put a reining handle on one. |

| Liana is a great hand. I recently sent a colt to Michelle Noterman in Purcell, OK and she did a FANTASTIC with him. Reining horse handle and a nice start on barrels. |

| Whoever you chose make sure they have knowledge of a stallion. I take in horses also but I am very up front about what I would rather work with. I do better with problem horse because I have a lot of therapy products that I also use to help them. I don't mind at all to give credit to other trainers on my horses. We broke and did lots of round pen work with our stallion. Liana Deweese then took him for 60 days and I brought him back and started him on barrels. I just decided that I need help with him in order to have him ready for futurities. My "real" job sometimes interferes with what I would rather be doing with my horses so the next step for me was to send him to one of my besties. Sharin Hall. She has trained, competed and won on numerous stallions. You need to watch the trainers and see if this is someone you can ride behind. There are many factors to consider when choosing a trainer. Good Luck and keep us posted!
Ok/Tx Trainers
Sharin Hall
Liana Deweese
Add Waddell
Jane Melby
Josianne St-Cyr
Clayton Criger
Mark Bugni
Gunner Enlow
Betty Roper
These are just a few off the top of my head I know everyone can help add more.

The best foundation that can be put on a horse will come from this man!!!!!!!!!!!!! hes just the best in the biz!!!!!!! many top trainers use him to put that foundation on them, its easy to put them on barrels after hes had them! amazing man and couldnt find a nicer more proffesional fella!
there are so many here in OK/TX. Lianna Deweese sorry i spelled her name wrong is fantastic! Clayton Crigor as well, Mark Bugni, Sharin, and I will say, and I dont know if she will take outside horse or not, but Sherri McKeel is awesome! Cody Bauserman is here also. there is a young lady in vian Kinsley Swepston that IMO is gonna be the next big name in training barrel horses...this gal has skills and a passion for it...she a fanstatic young lady and she trains for people. shes already trained some awesome open horses, derby champions & finalist, and has an outstanding futurity horse this year.
