| Over a year ago the vet came to float teeth. My friend had her horses boarded at my house, with a legal signed boarding contract. The vet assistaiant went to clean her horses sheath after having his teeth done. He was still very sedated. Well he kicked her and she had a small laceration on her thigh. Now a year later she is trying to threaten my friend with a law suit saying she wants plastic surgery on her leg for the one inch scar it left. This was over a year ago. We have signs posted all over facility of horse men's liability law. Being a vets assistaiant i would think that any time you work with horses this can happen. I don't think my friend is at fault. What are your opinions? |

Actually, if the vet assistant was working at the time of the injury then it is a workmans comp case.
I got hurt bad on a ranch directly in result of gross negligence. But because I was working at the time, only workers comp was relevant.
That is one of the big reasons to hire only insured contractors. |

Location: Florida | Have you contacted the vet that she was working for and gave them the heads up on the situation? I definitely agree that if she was on the clock at the time that it would be a worker's comp case, so it sounds like she is barking up the wrong tree. There was no negligence on your part. Doesn't sound like being a vet tech was a good career choice for her. |

So she is coming to your friend and trying to threaten her into paying. No your friend is not liable. Heck she doesn't even own the premise if push came to shove. LOL

| Yes friend contacted the vet. He was surprised had no idea she was doing that. In fact he paid for her medical expense. She is asking my friend to submit thru her insurance for plastic surgery! She has not sued but she is trying to threaten. She has no case. She had the horse in her care and in AZ you have to prove negligence. It's bogus. Thanks everyone |

Sure she does...but it has a big ugly scar on it!
Hey I have a scar on my hand from a Moluccan Cockatoo that tried to remove my thumb during an attempted blood draw by my boss years ago when I was a tech....maybe I should go try to find the owner...LOL...seriously...this woman "tech" sounds like a real asshat. |
