Just this week, I put them on my saddle and rode (hard) for about 1.5 hours - I could not BELIEVE the difference the next day in my knee! Usually the day after, my knee swells up huge and feels like bone on bone - this time - NO pain! I have no idea WHY they help but here is my testimony! I will have them on every saddle from now on!
They are magical. |

I'm not doubting you, but I just want to know WHY they are so much better? Nobody seems to be able to describe what makes them superior.
I'm a barrel racer (obviously lol) and all I've ever used have been aluminum or rawhide stirrups. My feet would get sore & legs would hurt from riding all day. I started riding for a cutter down the road loping horses and again I'm riding all day at that place. Well the saddle I use over there has nettles, I had never realized there was a superior stirrup until I used them!! With the nettles it's like I'm riding on air, you're feet don't get sore at all, they are very balanced, I never lose my stirrups. I guess that's how id explain it. They are amazing! I had always wondered what nettles were until I used them! Now I just have to buy a pair for each saddle. They really are incredible. :) |

Location: Buffalo, Wyoming | About 7 years ago I met the daughter of the Nettles Stirrups. She invited me down to her place and I rode with her and her family while I was down there. Everyone of their saddles had Nettles on them and I fell in love.
I have been telling myself for 7 years I was going to buy some but I have never made the jump but I am going to now. My knees kill me everytime I ride and they didn't while I was riding with the nettles. |

If you run barrels plus other things, I'd go w/the Halfbreeds - in at least a 2" or even a 3". If you want them for other things than barrels, then the Offsets or Slanted. I don't think you'll go wrong on any of their styles but I think the Halfbreeds give your foot better room & support, like NTO said too. Thanks for the advice! I'll probably go with the halfbreeds then as I mostly barrel race. We do trail ride occasionally but not too often. One other question, my one saddle is a Deb Sibley so the area where the stirrup hangs from the fender is much more narrow than on a regular saddle. Are they able to adjust the size of the stirrup to accommodate that? Just curious, if it's not possible it's no big deal : )
I am sure they can! |
