So long story short, my 17 year old niece was injured pretty severly in a golf cart accident, she has had 2 major operations to repair muscle and ligaments in her leg and a skin graft surgery too boot.  She is feeling better but obviously is not up and around just yet and is lonely, bored and somewhat depressed as it is her senior year.  I was trying to come up with some ideas of things to get her to keep her busy and entertained that didn't involve  her phone or online shopping, LOL!!!

I was thinking maybe a kit to make leather crafts, make a wallet or bracelet or something, keep her busy.  Anyone have any ingenious ideas that wont' break the bank, again, she is recuperating so can't be up on her feet at this point.

Thanks in advance!!!

Adult coloring books - if she is inclined to art - they are very detailed and have some beautiful renderings that could be framed or make a collage of them or something.  Would she be interested in learning to crochet?   She could make some scarves or beanies for Christmas presents or upcoming birthdays.  Youtube has tutorials on everthing these days.

needlepoint or cross stitch, books, puzzles, painting/putting together models, there are inexpensive ones at wal mart.  There are some bead kits that are not too terribly expensive.  What about tying some paracord - she could make reins or lead ropes and stuff or necklaces/lanyards, i have a keychain my son made for me many years ago.  It takes a bit to learn, so that would keep her busy for a little bit.

Prayers for a smooth recovery.  Good Luck keeping her entertained!

My much loved aunt had a terrible back (bent over and had a hard time moving around), and she adored the adult coloring books.  She bought me some as well as colored pencils, and even though she's gone now I never pull those books out without thinking of Aunt Angie.  I think some of the other ideas of yours and the other poster are great also.   I hope your niece heals quickly and completely
