When did you start noticing some changes after you started ulcer treatments? When did you start noticing them?
I started G on ulcer medication 9 days ago. I didn't scope her, talked to the vet and we went straight to the meds. On Day 4, I rode her bareback out in the pasture and she was like a pleasure horse
(this is normal
). On Day 6, my daughter was trying to work on smooth circles, turns, flexing, but G was crowhopping and snorty like she felt really good and fresh. Both the horses being ridden were 'all jacked up' and I wrote it off to us trying to hurry to beat the storm coming in. At Day 7, watching her being ridden bareback, it crossed my mind that she looked like a 16H roly-poly pony. Loss of weight and looking poorly was not one of G's ulcer symptoms but she is so fat now, even her butt looks fat and her legs look shorter. Day 9 and Day 10 she ran twice and I saw very little difference in her alley anxiety, if any. She is still giving me the stink eye when I saddle her and nipped at me as I was passing while my daughter was cinching her up.
