| My experience was ok...Just wasn't fond of the hour or more of 'spiritual' stuff and beliefs she tried to push on all of us...I didn't pay for that, I paid to learn to better our barrel patterns...didn't find the video critiques very informative, nor the bits nor tie-downs beneficial that they pushed on my horse. Didn't feel it was very individualized...Found other clinics more helpful, but wouldn't say it was a total waste or anything. Just not one I would go to again for the price. However, I did like her saddle and have one and seems to work well for me. Hope you have a good time!! I do agree you get out of clinics what you put into them! |

Location: Missouri | Love them! I can tke her style of riding and be able to jockey just about any style of horse, yes you will have to tweak a few things! lo! But I have found that this style is more natural for horse and rider. Yes it did take a little while to get used to it, but don't give up and keep trying! |

| I will be okay with the spiritual aspect. I have nervous energy at shows and try to channel it into prayer and such so that may actually be beneficial for me... Thank you for the responses so far. Lots to think about! I am excited to see what I can take away from it. |

Location: TEXAS | Honesly, I did not have a good experience. She had people helping her, which were in turn helping all the people that paid for the clinic, and those people didn't know any more about barrel racing than what I knew. That was a total waste of money, in my opinion. I paid for a clinic from her and instead I got a 'no name, non-pro' helping me. Sorry, I don't mean to bash it; just giving my honest opinion. |

Yup, Same here. Too many people, helpers didn't know much. I couldn't get clarification on questions that I asked to gain understanding. In addition, I would ask if what I was doing was the way she wanted and didn't get a response. I could go on, but I looked forward to the clinic only to walk in with an open mind and walk away VERY disappointed. |

| When considering any clinic, look at the track record of the clinician. How many top horses have they trained and CONTINUE to train? Did they have that "One" good horse that they built their empire on? Or have they continued to make good horses and train them to the top levels of the industry. That should help you make your decision. |

Location: North Dakota | Hers was the first clinic I went to. Was about 12 years ago. I learned a lot.
The only thing I didn't like about it is that she said my bit was too mild and I wasn't going to be able to control my horse when/if I got him running harder. (He was fine; he didn't need a bit change. He NEVER ran by a barrel ... or even tipped a barrel over for that matter .... in his entire career.) Also, my horse was a lefty and she never let us do the group drills or patterns to the left. Everything was done to the right. The only exception was if we were "making a run" then we could go either way.
I think her method is a lot different than what others teach, but I was able to take away some things from the clinic and put it to good use with my horse. She talked a lot about saddle fit which is important, and she also did a big segment on dentristry with video. That was the first time I had seen much of equine dentistry so that was really cool. I do feel like I got individual attention from her too, which is always nice.
I remember them doing Cowboy Church on Sunday morning, but other than that, I can't say the prayer really affected too much of anything.
If I had the opportunity, I would absolutely go to another one ... if that answers your question!

I agree to a point...but look at our area (SoCal) and see how many "has beens" from back in the day there are. If any of them would put on a clinic I would LOVE to learn from any of them. Not really still producing barrel horses or students but still have a plethora of great information and wins from the 80's through early Y2K. |

Location: Kansas | I tried to be respectful of someone who chooses to offer a prayer right in the middle of a barrel racing clinic. Was not prepared for a prayer that went on and on and on and on and on and on and on. I finally left in the middle of it. She even wanted to bless us and our horses one by one. Longest two days of my life. |
