Can there be issues with a horse that its legs are set back under them a little to far on the front end?

think that's called sickle hocked... I had a filly that had that and at 3 years when we broke her she had arthritis developing in both hocks.  She could not do a slide stop- would start into it then hop out and also she would stop on her front end (dash board the heck out of me) because of it.

Β Sickle hicked is when they are too far underneath. Camped out is when they are out behind them. They can also be straight through the hocks. All 3 are faults that can lead to soundness issues. Short upright pasterns can also cause problems.

Β Any deviation of correct conformation on the front or back end can cause issues.

Sorry, i had a pic but could not post. My friend was looking at a horse and this was an issue that I thought he had. I wasn't sure what issue this could cause.

I haven't dealt with it personally bit I would think it could definitely shorten the stride.
