Location: In the land of peanuts and cotton | Last summer I got really sick and started gaining a ton of weight from my meds. Well I never really quit gaining. I'm a year I've went from 112lbs to 142lbs yesterday. I was in shower tonight and noticed I have sever stretch marks. Not sure why I'm just now noticing. Is there anything I can get that will make them go away or at least lighten them. I'm just now coing to terms with the fact NONE of my cute, tiny summer clothes fit. When I saw the stretch marks I cried lithely. 90% of my summers was spent in a teeny weeny bikini but now I have hideous stretch marks. Help please!!!! |

Not making fun of anyone with them it's the fact that I'm only 21. I'm not old enough to have them. |

Personally - I'd sport those suckers and own it. Which is what I do with mine. You got them from overcoming a medical obstacle. Tell people to suck it if they say something. I have stretch marks on my hips (vertical) from growing so fast as a teenager (I'm still only 23).
And, hate to be crude but um.... Boys ain't looking at your stretch marks, and any guy worth marrying won't see them anyways.
But try Mederma, I think you can get it pretty much anywhere. |

Part of mine are on my hips but there not as bad. It's the stomach ones that are bad. There on the sides of my stomach right above my hip bone point. I was sick sick. I had simple Mono but was misdiagnosed and ended up with a critical care doctor and phnemonia with asthma month later My smart self decided to lie about how I felt so I could go to a 3 day barrel race. Knowing that's the dustiest barrel race with dirt barns and a very dusty warm up pen. It's now know to me as "the barrel race that tried to kill me". 2 times I came out of the alley way and couldn't get a breath.

Location: PNW | Are they dark, reddish ones or lighter and kind of silvery? Mine are the lighter, silvery ones - you can notice them most when I'm tan.
With my first son, I got a few more on my hips - after I went back to my normal size they became much less noticeable. Yours might do the same thing.
Now pregnant with our second son, I've noticed they've become more visible again the bigger I get (and so has my husband, God bless him).
You might wait to see how they are once you are back to your normal weight/size, but I definitely recommend the Mederma. I've used it on other actual scars and it worked well. My stretch marks don't bother me at all, they came from growing as a teenager and from bringing two awesome boys into the world (one of which is still en route).

Location: PNW | I got mono in high school - from kissing a boy on the Fourth of July, under the fireworks - totally worth it. The meds they give you are definitely rough. 'Roids make your balls small and your butt fat. |

The ones on my hips are the lighter kind but my stomach is the dark, dark ones. I'll try maderma. I used it when I had surgery on my eye. You can just barley see it now. |

| Not to steal the topic but does this stuff work well on deep dark scars? I have stretch marks from hip to hip from being pregnant. They are wide and soft, it feels like the skin literally ripped. |

Yep! Mine were dark purple.... now they are skin color. Also used it on my c-section scare,it was dark red...changed to a light pink almost white color within the first year. Love this stuff but it does smell funny. Like onions/garlic.... so I would put it on at night and take a shower in the morning. |

Mederma seems to make stretch marks that color. When I said skin color I guess silvery/lighter color is what I meant. Stretch marks will always be scars..... Mederma seems to help lighten it up. |

Location: In the Hills of Texas | THE has a product called Zonox that works great on stretch marks. You just use a very little and rub in well. The bottle will last forever. |

| Don't feel bad! I got stretch marks when I was about 14 because I gained weight in my stomach area and also got a badonk! I'm 20 and definitely not as big as I was when I was younger and still have them. They're like where my love handles are. I'm still self conscious about them but I've accepted them and someday when I do have an awesome hot body, I may look into getting them lasered or something. Lol. I understand your frustrations, good luck! |
