OhMax - 2014-05-23 12:48 PM I'll chime back in since the dial fits have come up... Hate them. Have had 2 helmets with them and they both broke very quickly from regular use. I don't feel like that's going to do a very good job of protecting my head...some people like them, but I would try to stay away if you can find something else that fits

I would think the dial would be bulky.... I would prefer one without it. I tried my troxel on yesterday... It's of the velvet type made in 2003. I looked like an egghead LOL

So yeah.... I'll be looking for a new one.

When I ride at a barn that requires it I have a Tipperary Sportage. Love it! It came with a bunch of extra pads/liners so you could adjust depending on the shape of your head. This is the first helmet that I haven't even noticed I'm wearing when I'm wearing it! ETA: usually I can't stand any helmets because they're either way too loose or crushing my forehead...

Just wanted to say thanks for all the suggestions. I went to the local tack store and they had a huge selection! I was a bit suprised to find that much so close!

I tried on the troxels, the IRHs, and the Ovations, but I ended up buying the Tiperrary Sportage (In Pink!). It seemed to fit my head shape the best. To whomever said that the brands fit differently- you were right! If anyone else is looking for one, I highly recommend trying them all on before purchase.

The Tipperary was also low profile and very light. In addition, it comes down lower on the back of your head, so I think it offers more protection in that area. Anyway, thanks for your help everyone!
