Location: Kentucky | I am taking night classes four days a week so I haven't been able to spend much time with the horses. This weekend I stripped stalls and stared at this mare for hours, haha! She is HUGE. Her back is sunk in, getting ribby, and she is bagged up. No wax yet, and she did wax within 24 hours of her foal last year. She foaled 2-3 days her last breeding date last year.
This mare was bred 6/18/2013, she is she 328 days today. I don't see her going very much longer. Baby was SUPER active last night.... the first time I've seen him/her move this entire pregnancy. Mama was not happy with it either. Any guesses? Please excuse how nasty muddy she is.... it's been thunderstorming three days straight here.

I thought she was going to go last night. Baby was active and mama was stomping and kicking at her belly. I don't think she has fully dropped yet, but I'm willing to bet it's sometime this week! |

| Mine waited so long last year I thought maybe she had lost it, and just gotten really fat (that shifted sides) and had jiggly gas. |

Location: Kansas | Just4fun is right. There is no predicting these mares and babies. We have been getting up with one for 3 weeks--she is that far past her due date. Another past due mare had her foal last night. She didn't finish eating so I thought whe would foal. She rewarded us with a palomino colt by Firewaterontherocks. We did have one mare foal a few days early so there is some hope for that. They're like the watched pot--they don't boil (foal) until you aren't watching. LOL |

I agree! I was boarding one that went 375 days.... I watched her every dang day and finally she went. I couldn't believe it. |
