I'm in the market for a new saddle pad and I am getting sooo confused by all the different types and fancy tech.

What would you recommend, use and why?
I've been looking at 5 star, best evers, thinlines mostly

What do u think of this thinline pad?

I've heard some good things about the thinline pads turning grumpy saddling horses into happy horses. Helping reduce movement of the rider and reducing rider and horse back pain.

Love my 5 stars. We had a couple thinlines when I rode English, but I've never seen their western ones.

So I gotta say, I was just like you a few months ago. I did some research and liked the feedback from other people on here about 5 stars.

For the money and time I have spent riding with different brands and products that had "hype" around them - my decision to go with a 5 star was by far the best thing I've done for my horses in a long, long time.

Hit up Rockyroad and she will work with you on every aspect of the pad. I LOVE mine and LOVE the way my good mare moves in it. I can't say enough super positive things about the product and company. I'm currently saving my money for another one!

Thanks for the input keep it coming!

I keep hearing great things about 5 star and I've read they are better then the best evers. Price is better for the best evers tho lol

I do think the thinline is more of an english thing. I actually didn't know they made western pads either untill I looked up their site.

I wish I could try both the 5 star and thinline. I actually had the waky idea of buying a 5 star and trying it with the thinline on top (not the two whole pads just the 1/4inch thinline with a 1/2 inch 5 star).

I guess I'm just wondering if the thinline is really better at pressure distribution, reduction, dissipation compared to the 5 star. I don't like the idea of the thinline by itself on his back tho. So I think I would get the fancy pro pad with the felt. Or do my waky idea. Or maybe someone will mention something else!
Thanks again!
