Elite Veteran Posts: 980 Location: Southwest Minnesota	Mix a little iodine in tri care ointment and rub it in their ears. The iodine will kill the fungus and the tricare ointment soothes the ears. I had a mare who was prone to getting this and it worked in a couple days. She would be hard to bridle when she had it and in a couple of days, it didn't bother her to have a bridle put on.

Regular Posts: 60	Depends on what kind of fungus it is. If it's the painful white plaque, it's a huge hassle! I've never heard of the wormer but If it works it's cheaper than what I had to do! All the research I did on it told me that you can't get rid of it but a friend told me to try something else. It's called Imiquad and it's a human medication for warts and such. My vet had not even heard of it but once you google the name and the plaque, info comes up. It's a pain in the butt and takes forever but it's pretty much the only thing that will get rid of it for good. I don't know much about treating just a normal fungus though!
