Location: ohio-in my own little world with pretty ponies :) | We are closing on our home on Friday and we wanted to do something nice for our realtor. Let me tell you, it was not easy for her to find us what we needed/wanted and dealing with crappy sellers and sellers agent but she found us our place :) sooo what should we get her or do for her?! |

Location: North Dakota | She is making commission off the sale of your home! I wouldn't get her anything. However, if you still feel its necessary maybe invite her out for a glass of champagne when you move in or get her a gift card to a nice restaurant. |

| This is why they receive commission. They get paid to work their tails off, I wouldn't go any further than that. Maybe send flowers, a thank you note and write a nice little recommendation. |

Location: where ever my L/Q trl is parked | I agree -that is her job (6% or more) to get or try to get what you wanted. Usually the agents company sends you a house warming gift. |

| I gave my realtor a hug and a thank you lol... they offered to take me out for drinks to celebrate. 6% commission is a pretty good thank you. |

I agree with Whiteboy, send her a thank you card, they get a nice commission for selling you this house. After we bought our place we sent ours a card and flowers and supper. She is a friend of ours and we were looking 5 hours away and she helped us find this place. She loves to travel so she came up a few times with us to see the place we were buying, and plus this is her home town so she knew her way around and was excited to show us around.  |

Location: Displaced Iowegian | When we were looking for a place to buy in AR, we had an agent who did work her tail off....she scoured the country (even miles from where her office was located), drove us around on NUMEROUS trips to show us places and worked several holiday week-ends (because that was the only time we could travel 7 hours to look......yes, she made a nice commission BUT she had to share it since it wasn't her company's listing. We sent her a nice "thank you" and a potted plant. |

Location: Tennessee | Just an FYI, the commission percentage a realtor makes is generally split 50% with whatever agency they work for, so they don't get as much as you think. I think a gift card to a nice restaurant would be appropriate. |
