I LOVE seeing those horses drop there hindend and slide around those barrels! Does anyone have any advice or training tips on how to get my mare to drop her back end and get her butt reall low in those turns so she can whip around them? I would be sooo appreciative! Thanks
(:

Here's my two cents. Not what you want to hear, but every horse has their own unique style. Some of their style is taught during patterning, and some is naturally the way they move and carry themselves. As time goes on, horses tend to find a turning style that is more comfortable for them. Forcing a horse to turn a certain way, will not only less likely to turn harder and faster, but also to begin to resist turning, as well as make the run overall slower. I would keep letting your mare turn the way she naturually wants too. On the other hand if she is throwing herself on her front end and not using her hind end, that's a different story. However without a video we can't tell. Hope this helps, and welcome to BHW!

Yes, my mare hardley ever uses her hindend! She uses her front end to get around those barrels and even stops on her front end. Its getting to be annoying and uncomfortable! Thank you for your reply
