With the drought conditions and hay and grain being as high priced as they are, you really wonder why anyone would want to buy horses.

I'm giving a premium for pet food, people food, and horse feed. It's just frightening.

I wish this sale would be built up more and put on the Saturday coming in when ft. smith opens the gates. It would help those who brought ones to demo get all that crap outta the way so they can focus on their colts and gives everyone a chance to get there on a weekend but doesn't interfere with the finals and the show they put on before it etc

I feel the industry needs a sale around this time of year for 3 yr old prospects that people can buy which will have a nice start on them and they can take and get them ready for the juvenile or hold out tell a later futurity. Barrel people really need to come together more as an industry and put our money together to get bigger incentives, purses, and put more money in the sport in general. We bicker and argue far too much. Can't we all get it together. Wouldn't everyone love a NICE sale to go to and find a prospect worth the money?

Well, those yesterday sure were worth the money. I didn't take any money or a trailer with me, because I don't need young horses any more, but if I had brought money, I would have sure bought a couple of those 3 year olds that sold in the first 20.

I'd be like you if I was there and they were decent and going cheap... leave my money and trailer at home. Then I'd need Dean to hold my hands because I wouldn't trust sitting on them. If I saw this I might allow my hands to leave the safety of being sat on and get raised anyway.

Such a shame...
