We have a tankless water heater or an on demand one as they are known as well. If you have hard water they clog too, and faster then a tank IMO. It helps save on bills because it only uses gas/electric while you use hot water. I think ours cost about $1500 total Canadian. A lot pricier up front.

Our well was bad for years too. Ours was a sand bottom and drilled wrong (it was 40 years old too). We used to go through pumps all the time because depending on how it's drilled it can suck up sand and clog the pump. We use a lot of water because we run a geothermal furnace and air conditioner so they wore out quick too. Had to drill a second well to fix the problem, good thing you don't ours was only 84 ft down and was a small fortune.

Our well is 200 ft deep.. but the pump is only down 120... so we always had extra room if the water level dropped for any reason... We used to water a pretty good sized garden with it and never had a problem...
