Elite Veteran Posts: 831	Ok so I think the station I just stopped at must have had either bad diesel or, hey have diesel under the green pump. I only put like 9 gallons in there to get me where I was going because fuel is always cheaper. But it started running like crap for a minute until I got here and filled it the rest of the way up with diesel. This ever happen to any of u??

Elite Veteran Posts: 974 Location: USA	I got a bad tank of diesel bf, it idled really rough and white smoke started coming out of the exhaust. I had the dealership tow it in bc I only had the truck for about a week. They though I put gas in it, turns out after testing it was a bad tank of diesel. I had the whole thing flushed. Now I only use the same fuel stops when in town, and if I'm out on the road I use truck stops.

10D Crack Champion	How old is the truck? How low was the tank when you put the fuel in it? I've heard letting a tank get really low can cause settled residue and junk to move around in the tank when fuel is added causing a rough go of it especially if it is not new.

Elite Veteran Posts: 831	It's a 2007. And yes at an idle like say a stop light it was really rough. When I stopped the first time it still had almost a quarter tank so it was low, but not like fuel light coming on low. In fact not saying I haven't ever but I always try not to let the tank get that low because I have heard of the whole stuff in the bottom of the tank thing, that and I'm scared to death of running out!! Lol!!

I Don't Brag Posts: 6960	What ever the cause make sure that you change your fuel filters pronto, and drain the water separator if they still have one.
