It is something I've seen advertised lately and it is fairly new to our area, but I don't know what it is. Is it like alfalfa? Is it good for horse? Higher starch than grass or alfalfa? Lower starch, better protein? I know nothing about it. I wasn't thinking of buying any as my horse does well on grass/alfalfa mix, but am just really clueless about sainfoin hay.

Appears to be mainly for ruminants.

My neighbor has 8 acres planted. It originated in France. Horses love it!
