Beet pulp for weanling?

This is my first baby raising experience and granted it isn't a quarter horse
(it's a Clydesdale weanling
) but I have always gotten great advice here so thought I would ask you all. Is beet pulp recommended for youngsters? I have my barrel horses and other clydesdales on it but wasn't sure if it is safe to start the little one on it or not. We do not have that great of a hay selection around here but of course right now there is plenty of green; however, I am just trying to get some ideas on general nutrition for him.

I fed a beet pulp based feed to my weanling. However, a more complete feed might be a better option. I really like the ultium growth. You don't have to feed them a lot if they have good grass and they look great on it.

The concern I have with feeding beet pulp to youngsters is that is is very low in phosphorous, and it is important to keep a good calcium:phosphorous ratio with their growing body. It is also very low in B-vitamins, protein
( 8 - 10% usually
), and has minimal carotene. If you choose to feed it, you will need to supplement at least the phosporous deficiency.

Thanks guys, this is why I asked. I am getting him on Safechoice Mare & Foal but wasn't sure if I should add any beet pulp to it also :

I have three horses on beet pulp right now. My complaint is the inconvenience. I am thinking of weaning my horses off of it. It's a lot to ask someone else to soak it and all that when I need someone to feed for me and it's not the easiest to deal with when I'm traveling. Thinking of just supplementing their feed with some alfalfa pellets, tough to get good alfalfa consistently around here.
