Location: Not where I should be... | There was a post a while back that mentioned a past thread on drilling holes in your solid trailer dividers to increase airflow. Does any one have any pictures of that or a link to that old thread? I haven't ben able to find it in my searches.
Has anybody done this themselves? Any tips?

Would love to hear ideas. When you drill, though, do you just sand it somehow to smooth the sharpness? |

Location: Not where I should be... | That would be my thought... I'd have to grind off any rough spots afterward. I'm hoping that someone that has actually done this could help us out. I LOVE my trailer and do not want to mess it up. |

I can't help with your question but just wanted to say I love your avatar picture. So precious! |

Isn't that the truth! |

I agree. I don't think I would want to drill holes anywhere on my trailer. |

Location: Not where I should be... | Sooooooo, I did something I probably shouldn't have. I wanted to see how the airflow was for myself, so I went for a ride in the trailer--- and no I don't need or want to hear that this was dangerous....
There really wasn't that great of a breeze in the back two slants (there was more coming in the front slant), and I use the front slant for storage. I'm going to add fans for when we're stopped and see how it is from there. I already insulated the roof and of course open everything possible when it's hot, but I'm always open for more ideas.
But drilling the holes is not out of question.... I still would love to see pics of someone's trailer that has done the holes in the dividers. |

Location: South Dakota | I wish more trailers would come with airflow dividers. To me it is a no-brainer. My horses seem to travel better when they can see each other and have that air flow. |

Location: Central Texas | I bought a trailer in Feb. and one of my absolutes was flow thru dividers. Well, I caved and agreed to an Elite with solid dividers and really dislike them. I firmly believe that horses haul better when they can see each other. So now, I'm looking at replacing the dividers. I contacted Elite about it and they gave me the name of number of a place to get them replaced. I have not called yet, since money is way tight right now, but will. Maybe you can find out from the builder how much and where to get them? |

Location: Not where I should be... | Here is what I had in mind.... neater of course. Money is tight here too, and I would hate to spend 300+ to modify my dividers. There's a great welding shop right down the road that could change the sheet out for bars if I could afford it. I was just thinking DIY. I was thinking 1 inch hole saw 1 inch apart that would end up like this. It wouldn't cost much of anything and being a perfectionist I'd make it look nice.
Thoughts?
