Who uses B complex vitamins or B 12 vitamins for a pre race supplement? Either injectable or oral. Do you use them to keep your horse on feed or from washing out while hauling? Also do you feed an oral supplement daily and boost with injectable before you haul? What are you specifically giving, how much were you recommended to give and how often from your vet?

I feed my horses Liquid Vita from OHC Performance. It has B vitamins and some other stuff in it. You can either feed it starting 2-3 days before, or you can feed it periodically. I just give it to all my horses Mon, Wed, Fri. I have noticed a difference in them all, I think a lot of horses get low on B Vitamins.

I have one mare that I give Vitamin B1 pellets to every day. I use it just to help keep her focused and to not let her beat herself up mentally at rodeos. I just started her on them this spring so she has been on them for about 3 months but she has been super calm and focused everywhere I have hauled her and she is warming up calm and does not get excited until we are heading to the gate to make a run. Even then she is staying in the zone but just gets her game face on and ready to rock and roll. I don't know if it is just her maturing or if the pellets are helping. Either way I am keeping her on them because B vitamins are good for the nervous system.

I help a friend out prior to Elite last week. Her appendix mare will stop eating on the road and washout very easily. She won't relax in the stall and can be a stall kicker.
I mixed her: 20ml Vitamin C, 10ml Vitamin B Complex, 5ml Vitamin B12-5000, and 7ml Caco Iron. She reported her mare was sleeping in her stall, no kicking, and very quiet to warmup. She was eating all her meals and stayed hydrated in our TX heat.
