Location: N Texas | I have a silly question about trailer window screens. I have an older trailer that has drop down windows on the head side, but there are no bars. There are screens on the widows now, but they're kind of tattered and need to be replaced, so I don't put the windows down when hauling, I just open the sliding window. My question is: if I get the replacement screens and haul with the windows down, will the screens "flap" in the wind? One of my horses is terrified of tarps and plastic bags and needs more desensitizing, and I don't want to traumatize him with a screen flapping in his face when he's in the trailer. |

Location: Somewhere in N.C. | If they fit correctly and tightly they will not flap. I used the screens, but the horses where always still poking their heads around the edges. I saved my money and installed the bars that fold down with the window. Well worth the extra money. more air can come in and horses are safer.

Location: At the race track with Ah Dee Ohs | Mine had screens and the horses were forever getting their heads around the screens. I made my own bars and installed them in the slats for the screens. Worked perfect and let lots of air through. |

Location: South | I have the screens in my Exiss trailer and when they fit correctly they don't flap. They have Velcro straps that attach to the inside of the window and I can easily remove them or leave them up for their heads not to hang out. I will have to say they are HOT and restrict alot of air flow! I have a 3 horse slant and normally have the 1st horse open and remove the screen to let in more air. I think overall the screens where a good investment but I would definalty price compare to bars. Because I would much rather have bars |

Location: where ever my L/Q trl is parked | Why not pay the extra get the bars installed... then if you need more protection for their face/eyes while the windows are down put on a fly mask. I had screens on an older trailer they fit well and were tight, but horses still put their faces thru the screens or around and tore them. Then one started playing with it flapping while in route and compeletly ripped it off... I never could find it. I think it blew out the right/passenger side drop down window. |

I'm really considering going that route. My BIL is pretty handy with welding and fabricating, so I may hit him up for another favor :) |
