I'm actually happy our dish is turned off and I don't have to suffer thru football season. I wish this was the case in my house. I hate how my husband is glued to the tv every Sunday and Monday to watch pro and when he's off on Saturday, he watches college. I really want to hide the remote so he can go somewhere else. If I let him, the sports channels would be on CONSTANTLY. sometimes I think he needs a high five. In the face. With a chair. I sear I love him, y'all Not trying to be rude but how much of your time do you spend with your horses? Do you go to big races on the weekends? Over memorial day, Labor day? Jackpots during the week? Ride 2-3 days a week??I mean it could be worse he could be out at the bar with some bar fly, he could be gone for weeks on end during hunting seasons, everyone needs a hobby..... or two
This was said mainly as a joke =) If I'm not home he'll have the tv on nonstop, but thankfully, I'm always at the barn or somewhere else so I don't have to hear it. But to answer your questions, I spend a good amount of time with my horses provided I don't have something else going on. I do go to big races on the weekends I am not working or have a prior engagement. Not sure what Memorial Day has to do with football season, but if there's a barrel race during that time within a reasonable drive time I'm there. I go to JP's on days I don't have to work and I usually ride 5-6 times a week. Lol and you're right, it could be worse. However, he would like to remain "intact" therefore he doesn't hang out with barflies. He's got his own hobbies, I just don't think watching tv should be a hobby. Sure, watch a game, but I don't think the tv needs to be on from the moment he wakes up to when he goes to sleep. It's a little excessive.

Barrel racing is too darn expensive and time consuming. I don't understand why people put so much time and effort into animals that try everything in their power to hurt themselves. Then there's the trailer, vet, farrier, time spent at the barn, entry fees, tack, feed, hay...sure, ride a horse but I don't think it should be a full time hobby.
Anyway, not really into football but I can't wait for the summer to be over. It is the least fun time of year...at least for my family. Never a moment's rest and little to no fun to be had. I am soooo ready for fall and football.
