Has anyone on here installed an electric jack on their LQ trailer before?  What jack did you go with?  I love my LQ trailer- but it is INSANELY difficult to use the manual jack, honestly ( laugh if you want) because my truck is kinda tall, and Im kinda not, so it gets to a point its hard to turn the handle because the handle is to high.  lol  Any advice on what to do to convert it to an electric or hydraulic one?   The service guy at work is willing to put it on for me, but I dont know what to get or where to start.   Thanks!

I don't know what kind mine is, and I know this isn't any help, but once you get an electric jack, you will LOVE it!! The trailer I have now came with one and it is my first with an electric jack. It is the handiest thing ever and I don't think I could be without it now!

I had one installed on my last trailer but I don't know what brand. It was awesome tho. I will never own a trailer without one again. The trailer I have now has a hydraulic jack and it's even nicer (faster).

If you know someone who is handy you could most likely and electric log spliter and make one out of that, using a inverter for a couple hundred bux.

I had a hydraulic jack installed on mine last year. It had the old bulldog single leg jack on it. I don't know how the hubby got the old one off, but once he did all we did was drill holes in the side braces that held the old jack in place and about 10 bolts installed the new one. My battery for the living quarters was located up front so we only had to run wires about a foot and the controller was screwed in hidden under the LQ nose side piece. Rather easy. Just be sure to have enough fluid and properly bleed the system to get rid of air bubbles. We got an equalizer hydraulic jack. On a side note- good luck getting them to answer the phone to find out what size bolts we needed to purchase. Hubby forgot to order the install kit.

I ordered mine from www.towshop.com. It cost me about $550 shipped because I had a Bulldog brand manual jack and so I had to get an electric jack that was compatible.  It isn't tremendously speedy but it isn't bad at all.  Much nicer than having to crank it, especially when the trailer is loaded with water, etc.  They were great at answering my questions, etc and making sure I got the correct jack.  I think the company is out of Oregon.

I bought a 4~Star .. no way could I crank that up ..
So.....I bought a electric jack single speed, 12.000 lb...capacity...and had my local trailer service company install it.
Total cost was less than $800.00..
I love it...... :)

I don't know what brand ours is, but when we bought our LQ used from the dealership part of the deal was them installing an electric one. Best decision ever!

If you want electric, you can try get what's called a Leg2B...you have to know if you have a 1 speed jack or a 2 speed jack and the brand because the jack you buy must be compatible with the gears in order to turn them...e-trailer.com sells them pretty cheap.  The Bulldog drive kit is about $550...the Equalizer for a 1 speed is about $650, and for a 2 speed is about $585....there's a couple places online that sell them that cheap.... and it shouldn't take too long to install because your batteries are already there.

A hydraulic jack actually takes the place of your jack now, so the trailer needs to be blocked up and your current jack removed and replaced with an Equalizer (7500# is $815, 12000# is $1100...if you get the hand pump, they are more) or a Bigfoot w/remote is a little cheaper, not much...you'll be glad you picked this option over the electric for the fast smooth operation of them.

Im not really worried about speed as much as I am just not having to crank the dang thing up and down  lol   So in order to get an electric jack I haveto know what  type of manual jack is on my trailer?

Yes you need to know what is currently on it as a manual.  If you are in doubt the guys I worked with at towshop told me where to look to get all the correct info for them that they needed.  Also check into shipping.  My shipping was included but some can get pretty pricey.  So glad I invested.

Electric over hydraulic is the way to go unless the trailer is not real heavy. Then you can possibly get by with just electric.
