With God all things are possible

| These days, doesn't everything seem unstable? The economy, gas prices, jobs, political climate. Even the earth itself is rocking with earthquakes, tsunamis, tornadoes, hurricanes. We read in the Psalms about how God is our rock , but how can we feel secure when everything around us is crumbling?
Psalm 16:8-9 I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With Him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices ; my body also will rest secure.
In Matthew 14, Peter gets out of the boat and walks on the water toward Jesus. Peter did fine until he took his eyes off Jesus and saw the stormy winds, and then he became afraid and started to sink.
If we deliberately channel all our energy into keeping our focus only on Jesus and not on the upheaval around us, then we won't be afraid. We'll be stable. We'll be at rest.
When we look at others things and don't focus on Jesus, His will for us, His power His sovereignty, then suddenly we' be as unstable as everything else.
In Psalm, David keeps his eyes on God, and then he isn't shaken by the things around him. HE had enemies on every side, enemies within his palace, and his own sin to contend with, but he trusted in God to help him and save him. That focus brought Him unshakeable rest.
FAITH STEP; Take some time to ignore everything around you and focus on Jesus. Keep your eyes on Him and rest secure
