| I need to buy my daughter a helmet. I have absolutely no experience or knowledge of what a good helmet should have. She is 3. Can someone suggest a good brand, type and size? She wears a size 6 1/4 cowboy hat.
I was thinking Trexel was a good brand but I wasn't sure.

Location: Oklahoma | For a toddler, it is hard to find one small enough to fit. I've had the best luck fitting troxel (they make a toddler helmet) or if they have a larger head, I like the ovation with the dial fit system. |

Location: Oklahoma | Also, depending on where you live, I'd highly recommend going to a tack store knowledgeable about helmet fit. You can also measure your toddler's head. The smallest the Charles Owens fit is a 52cm head. |

| Thank you! I don't think anyone in town sells them but I will call both tack stores! |

Location: Oklahoma | I used to work for Mary's Tack and Feed in Del Mar, CA. They did have toddler sized helmets. You can always call them at 858-755-2015 and I would recommend talking to Danielle in English Sales. She's a good friend of mine and could point you in the right direction! |

Location: 100 miles from Nowhere, AR | I got this one for my daughter in purple when she was 2. She's 6 and still using it. It has the dial adjustment on the back. http://www.doversaddlery.com/t/aegis%3f-pony-schooling-helmet/p/X1-3654/ |

Location: MI | We have 3 of these: http://www.doversaddlery.com/t/troxel-spirit/p/X1-36018B/ running around our house. Fits my 2yo son to my 6.5yo daughter. This is probably the last year that my oldest will be able to wear it though, I believe she may need a new one for Christmas.
Anyway, dial type adjustable fit as well. :) |

Location: Washington | My 3 yr old and I recently took a spill off a horse. I sent her helmet back to Devon-Aire/Aegis for $20 and the cost of shipping, so about $30. They were great to work with and rather quick about it. My 3 yr old is on the smaller side and it fits her rather well with the dial adjustments.
My oldest also has one that is about due to be replaced, she got it for her 2nd Bday. |
