| My Mom had it last year removed from the top side of her cheek bone, almost the pad area under her eye ... there is small scar but it is slowly fading. |

Location: Golden Gulf Coast of Texas | I work for two docs that specialize in the MOHs procedure. It has the best cure rate for basal and squamous cell carcinoma. They will excise the spot trying to save as much of the good tissue as possible then they freeze the part they take out and a Histotech will use special machine to shave the specimen into very fine layers, then when the bottom layer and perimeters are clear of cancer they can stitch you back up or if not clear they go back and take more tissue in the area where there is still cancer. Have worked for them 8 years and several family members and friends have had it done. If you have any other specific questions I would be glad to answer! |

Location: South Dakota | I had it on my forehead. My coworkers were really impressed how it healed. There is a scar but I can cover it with makeup. It is very important to keep it moisturized while it is healing. |

Location: Texas Gulf Coast | I had both on my nose and they were removed in one procedure. I had a hole in my nose the size of a quarter by the time they were through, you could see the cartilage. My nose was bandaged until I had plastic surgery done the next week. It looked bad until the plastic surgery procedure but it healed great, with a very tiny scar on my nose in the shape of a horseshoe. It is easily covered with makeup. Good Luck with your procedure! |

I had the MOHs procedure on my face (very near my nose) two years ago. Was not fun by any means but it had to be done. I have a long scar but can cover it with makeup. Went back to my dermatologist this week and there was a little red spot at the end of the scar. She biopsied it and sent it off. I may have to have more surgery. |

 Go For It!
Location: Texas | My husband has had 3 done on his face⦠2 on his cheek and one on his bottom lip. The one on his right cheek was fairly deep and left a small scar. It was relatively painless and easy aftercare⦠The one on his lip was a bit different. It was still done locally, but when the anesthesia wore off he was in lots of pain. It took a few days for the swelling to go down in his lip and he isn't a complainer, but he said it hurt... bad.
The lady that did his Mohs did a great job. You can barely see the spots and even his lip healed really well. I think the Mohs is the best way to go, if it is on your face (especially for women). He had a basil cell removed on his arm 15 years ago (where you get your vaccine shots) and they dug out a HUGE hole and did a skin graft, but the scar is horrible. I bet they had to go an inch into that muscle to get it all, and it's as big around as a silver dollar. But they got it, lol.
It is so important that we try to keep covered up and out of that sun all day. I try to wear long sleeves a hat and plenty of sunblock when I'm outside doing stuff. Of course most the damage that we do, we do when we're young, it just takes a while to show up.
