I haven't read all of this so it may have already been said. Last year I was having this same problem, it was falling out in handfuls.  What helped me was better learning to manage the stress that I had going on and to switch to a sulfate free shampoo.

Any updates on your hair loss? I posted a similar thread about a year ago. Mine is still falling out but the only thing the doctors will agree on is that they don't know why.

Just gonna put this out there because I'm having the same issues. Was told to quit smoking and take vitamins. Apparently smoking was adding toxins into my body that was affecting my hair n nail growth. Won't know til I completely quit though. Hard habit to break.

Get your hormones checked i was in menopause at about 36 my doc checked them and said my thyroid needed to be watched. Because i was thin like 110 lbs that didnot take it serious. Just because you thryoid is in the normal range still does not mean it is good for you. Just went thru this. One of my levels was .3 which was lowest level in normal but that was on meds. It went from. 3 - 3.0 so if you fell bad. You could still be off. And at 36 my female hormones where off and tye doctor said it did not mean anything so i found another doctor. Come to find out i had endometriosis and endometriosial cyst a couple big ones. Fibroid tumors the surgeon said my ovaries where so scarred that having children would have been impossible. He told me i should have been in horrific pain. I told him what good what it have done to say anything. Alll he could do hold his head down. As all the test he did came back neg. The only thing he knew i had was fibroids. My mother died of ovarian cancer. I know that having this surgery save my life.

I went to my homeopathic doctor about 3 weeks ago for this. I *did* end up testing very weak for my thyroid BUT was testing "normal" at my traditional doctor when she did blood tests. I should only have to take the homeopathic meds from 6-8 weeks to get everything back to normal. It's been about 3 weeks. I go in for a follow up in another 3 weeks. I'll let you know how it goes.

And this year has been SUPER BUSY. I hate to say stressful b/c stress to me is more of I guess what is classified as anxiety (like "stressing" about bills or marriage or whatever). I just have a lot going on. I don't remember the last time I cried. But, the dr said being that spread thin is still stressful on the body, even if it isn't on the emotions.

Just don't let it go. It's not normal.

Bocephus, I think I recall you posting about hair loss quite some time ago, correct? Did that ever resolve at one point or has it been ongoing since then? I know there have been a few posts and I try to read them all because I have posted about it as well. I've had every part of my body (not literally) tested and checked and been to every type of doctor in this area that might have an answer except for a homeopathic doctor. That is my next step. It affects every part of my life and I've even started looking at wigs :(

Yes, I did post - maybe 1.5 years ago! It did resolve on it's own - partially. I say that b/c the homeopathic doctor said that for an adult woman with kids, my results were actually better than he expected. Long story short, he tests about 40 different things and he gives you your "top 10" - worse being #1. When you're tested, you're either in the normal range, stressed range, or weak range. It takes a while for one particular area to get to the weakened range - especially if you have multiple things going on. Typically for a mom, all top 10 are weaknesses. For me, I had 8 weaknesses so more than likely, my body has just been "dealing with" the same issue and only when another, additional stressor comes into my life does it finally break down and result in things I can actually see like hairloss. I think a couple of years ago, whatever was happening in my life or body was temporary and I was able to partially recover on my own - but not fully. In December, I started studying for the CPA exam - 20 hours a week every week until the middle of August (got my last passing score TODAY by the way!), we sold the house we'd lived in for 7 years, bought a house without a realtor (the seller's house wasn't for sale so we would've had to pay them after just paying our selling realtor 6%. No thanks!), moved twice, and my daughter AND husband had to have surgery. All while working fulltime. I honestly never felt stressed out (like I mentioned above), I never cried one time but my body couldn't do it, I guess.

I  am currently fighting my thyroid as well and am trying to figure out where to go next.  I have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism, but my medicines just are not cutting it.  I know I need to go get my bloodwork redone, but honestly I just do not want to be on pills my entire life, so I am looking for any help!  I did just purchase "Thyroid Health", but I have not been able to start reading it yet to see what I can learn from it.

So my question, for those who do have thyroid issues, what treatment has helped you the most?  And where did you have to go to get your help?

Congrats on the passing grade!  That IS a lot of stress for the body to go through. How do you do it?, lol.  I am going to look for a homeopathic doctor but is there any specific credentials or specialties to seek out?
