I believe my horse has sore kidneys. Is there something that I can give him for a fast relief. I am in the process of switching feeds, the old feed I am switching from is what I believe made his kidneys sore, so I am hoping that that helps, but can I give him Apple Cider Vinegar or anything else to get him quicker relief?

Thoughts?

Second Equine Natural Care .  Also what are you feeding?  Braggs ACV is the best if you are going to try vinegar.

My little mare was diagnosed with a bladder stone in April and then we also found out she has a couple small kidney stones in her left kidney. Her only symptom at the time of diagnosis was that after being ridden one day she passed blood in her urine. The girl I had taken a lesson from thought she had tied up but CC never got stiff or sore but we treated her like she had tied up just to be safe. A few weeks later I hopped on her and walked and jogged her for about 2 minutes and she passed blood in her urine again. Got her in immediately to the vet, found the stones and got her started on the Herbs even thought the vets just recommended putting her down. She has only passed blood in her urine 1 time since starting the herbs that was after I had quit syringing it to her and she apparently wasn't eating it in her feed like a good little girl, started syringing it again and haven't had blood since. She will be going back in for another ultra sound on the kidneys at the end of October. Haven't ran her but I have been riding her and after about the first month I have been asking her to do everything but I keep the riding time shorter especially in the heat.
Good luck and I second the Bragg's, made a huge difference in how my mare ate her feed.
