I am just wondering if anyone on here has experience with cushings in miniature horses?  I have a smaller mini who is around 8 yrs old, he has foundered in the past (slightly) and he has been dry lotted and turned out for small amounts of time in pastures with a grazing muzzle.  He is also on strictly grass hay.  He has been doing great, and now when the weather has cooled he seems VERY stiff/sore in his front legs.  I have been researching and coming up with a lot of signs saying he most likely has cushings as they say one of the main signs is showing signs of laminitis in the fall?  I am having the vet out this week but am wondering if anyone who has dealt with this can give me advice on treatment that they've had success with and/or questions I should ask?  I was going to have his front feet x-rayed as well...? TIA!

THE has a Cushings formula, I know there is someone else on here that uses it on a pony or mini.

I got the THE NitrOxide for my mini that founder on mesquite beans last year, and he seem to keep getting worst, I had him on a half of gram of bute, but he was still hurting so I called Krystal and she is a dealer for THE and she suggested to try the NitrOxide on him and with in a week I saw a hug different in him now hes back to his little self, no more laying down just up and playing with his pen mate, he dont get no pasture time and when he does hes on a long rope to eat some grass for awhile and then he gos back to his pen, I have large pens so its not like hes being kept in a stall 24/7 hes got lots of room to run and play. If I were you you need to give Krystal a call

That's great to hear that he is doing so well! Mesquite beans, who woulda thought lol.
I'm so new to Cushings that I am not that great at knowing the symptoms other than the thick coat, but since THE has the money back guarantee, if your vet says the little thing has it, I highly recommend it.

Great thanks for the info!!  Im assuming that you feed it in with grain??  Do you just give a handful with it in it?  He is not getting anthing other than grass hay right now.  Im truly hoping for the best!! He has a large dry lot, but hates being alone so Im thinking about getting him another mini to keep him company while my other horses are turned out

He gets a big handfull of feed, a dry pellet and I mix like a teaspoon of the NitrOxide in it. You feed it twice a day for 5 days and then just once aday after they get their loading dose. I really like what I am seeing from using this

I am having the same problem with our mini. I put her out on pasture this summer and she's very sore in her front end all of a sudden. Is not getting better so I have a vet appt for her. I knew I should of never bought a mini...
