I sold a 4 year old horse along with the saddle I used on him about a month ago.

I have been informed that he is now rearing and bucking, what would cause this?
They indicated that when riding him or trying to get on him and touch the middle of his mane he will rear.

I am buying him back, and would like ideas on what might be causing the rearing or bucking, and how to fix the issues.

I have a vet appointment made to check his teeth.

I am glad to be purchasing him back, as I regretted selling him.

Thanks

It is good you are wanting it back. People can screw a horse up so fast I would say they are out of luck. We sold on payments back when we were young and dumb and let them take the horse. They made one payment and reniged on the deal. We spend a lot of time and money tracking him down, but did find him. She had him started under saddle in the mean time and between them and her, he was pretty screwed up. We turned him out to pasture and restarted him. He had some issues but we got through most of them. He was making a heck of a horse and broke his leg in a freak barn accident.

Sounds like they are leaving something out that they did to the horse...

When you get him back, I would start with a good physical workup by a vet, and a chiropractor.

Alot of people are idiots. That being said, they probably inadvertently did something to him like yank on his face and now he's head shy. I'm sure you know what I'm getting at .... Turn him out, give him a chance, and try again!

I'm glad you're getting him back!
