Twin Sister to Queen Boobie Posts: 13315 Location: East Tennessee but who knows?!	Most folks around here just trail ride occaisonally at best. I think its best if they do more and believe they all can in the right hands. I sort cows and do trail events on my barrel horse when I can. Also have a cowbred prospect thats 4 this year and I've shown her halter, in hand trail, walk jog pleasure and horsemanship and she's been on cows at a clinic. Planning on putting at least another year of ranch shows on her before she sees a pattern.

Living on the edge of common sense Posts: 24139 Location: Carpenter, WY	Love the pic I saw on FB of Mine That Bird trail riding up in the mountains. I think it's good for any horse to do anything you feel like doing with them. Keeps them sane and they don't seem to have has many issues when asked to do something.

Extreme Veteran Posts: 554	I feed and water my horses. Does that count? I trail ride a bunch just not in the summer out here in AZ. Mine are afraid of cows and they are quarter horses from Texas. So I take them to team pennings when they have them.

Expert Posts: 2128	Yessss. Before I trained mine on barrels his job was day working cattle. Then on to barrels, and roping both ends. The hubs ropes off him pretty often. Its pretty nice because it keeps him sane, and working good. Makes it much easier on me to boot.

Elite Veteran Posts: 915 Location: SE KS	My newly minted barrel horse has done all kinds of things this year. He camped & trail rode in CO. Did local showdeo where I showed him in Western Pleasure, Barrels, Poles & flags. My neighbors daughter showed him in Reining & also ran flags on him. He has carried my nieces, nephews & cousins around when they come to visit & also is a rope horse too!!! The more they do the better they are!!!!!
