I've been having a heck of a time finding sport boots to fit my 3-year-old colt. His bone structure in his legs is amazing big strong bones. I love the Professional's Choice SMB 3 boots (hate the SMB 2 and hate the Elite) but the problem I am encountering is that my colt needs a medium for his front legs and a large for his hind legs. I am having a very difficult time finding separate pairs of the PC SMB 3 boots; pretty much they all come in value packs unless you want black or white. If it comes down to it, that's what I'll have to do (plain black or white) but I really want some COLOR with his beautiful grey!

So I just ordered Classic Equine. I've never tried this brand before. I lined the splint guards up on the inside of his legs, but then I feel like the darts do not line up properly under his fetlock.

These are mediums. Are they too small because the darts won't line up correctly?

Since it is hard to see in my pictures, I am pointing at the stitch lines where the darts are.

Back leg is even worse, with the darts being to the outside.

I do have a size large coming for the hind legs. I ordered it right away just in case medium was too small for his hind legs .... but seems like medium is also too small for his front legs?

I can't get mine to fit anybody. I am disappointed in CE. They rub together on the front legs.

I think they look "ok" fit wise( a bit on the small side) . I had similar issues on fitting my 6 yr old with boots. Finally just went with polo wraps.

The look a bit small, IMO.  Hopefully you can find some Larges to try out and not have to buy them if they turn out too big.

I am not a fan of the CE either, your horse looks like mine, inbetween on sizes, she was big bone but short cannons so hers bunch up around her ankle.

So far I like the iconoclast fit, I don't really care about color on my boots, but I have heard some people dye the white ones

I've never tried Classic Equine before because I always felt they were too bulky looking. They're really not too bad in person on that aspect, but I did feel they were much harder to apply to the legs than my Professional Choice brand.

Dang. Was really hoping they were gonna work. This will be the 3rd set of boots I'll have to return. I think the large would fit the bottom okay, but then I think they might be too LONG where they are going to interfere with the knee action on his front legs.

Cheryl: Yes, my guy has short cannon bones as well. The Professional's Choice Elite boots actually didn't work at ALL for him because they came up way too high on his front legs, because of his short cannon bones.

I may try a few other brands before I stop my search. But my "fall back" plan is to use the medium Professional Choice SMB 3 on his front legs, and polo wraps on the back.

I bought my first pair of CE boots for my gelding in a medium and they looked like this, so i went and bought a pair of larges and they fit perfectly. There isn't really a height difference in them either, just the width of them is larger. However I still have pairs of mediums that I'll use on him and he doesn't seem to feel a difference. But I will say that I LOVE the classic equine boots. I've had a pair for 6 years and they don't have a tear or loose thread on them still after years of every day use, and they clean up extremely well. You certainly get your money's worth out of them!
