Playing the Waiting Game

I was suppose to take my horses to a friends house for the winter... but things are a little delayed... SO I called my hay guy yesterday told him I needed a bale. NO problem I can meet him when he gets off work... I go meet him, he askes why I couldn't have gotten the hay last Sat when the weather was nice... I told him I thought I was moving them to a friends house and wouldn't be needing any hay this year.... SO Freezing cold!! I get the hay home
(to my ex's
). I'm thinking YAY good horsey mom.... YEAH right.. the little butts took about two bites and went back to foraging the little bit of green grass left in the pasture..
Here I was feeling so bad that the poor horses had NO hay... UGH... At least one less thing to worry about.

Mine did the same thing the other day when I put the first bale out. It didn't last long though, they've been eating on it pretty good since!
