Location: NW MT | I have not seen the Schneider pads in person, but from the pictures, I would say they are needled wool blend, not pressed - that in itself creates a "not as much support" system. (pretty much like a Diamond Wool) She also states they are "wool blend", so who knows how much wool (whether it's virgin or reworked wool) is in them, & how much is the "other fibers", including polyester, etc. I use, sell, & love 5 Stars. I want as much virgin wool as possible on my horses so that their back breathes. 5 Stars are now 100% virgin wool - NO other fibers. There is a rating system in pressed felted pads & they are the very highest rated - NO other pad is close. Here is a good article that explains a lot about different types of pads. The F15's are the Slones, Wrights, etc & the 5 Stars are now F9, F10, F11. (the needled wool/wool blend pads are not even rated due to the way they are made. Anyway, if I can answer any questions or help, please contact me. We are running our Christmas sale now too. http://www.5starequineproducts.com/research-articles/saddle-pad-research
Wanted to add too that the 5 Stars come in 1/2, 3/4, 7/8, 1 & 1 1/8" thicknesses, a variety of colors & wear leathers, plus customizations.

| I prefer the 5 Star........still have an old one and am going to be getting another. I tried a Schneider pad and it did not seem to have as much support as I would like...resold it fairly quickly....JMO...I'm sure there are several who like them |

Location: Iowa/Missouri | 5 Stars is all I use. I love them. I've felt the Schneider and they just didnt' feel to have much support to me. Plus I thought they only came in one thickness as well. They are very pretty I just like the feel of my 5 Star better. |

Location: WI | Ordered one of Darla's pads earlier this year and I have used it on all my horses, I LOVE them. I am one that does not like thick pads so that is what i like about hers (plus they are pretty to boot). They don't slip, and i have had no issues with sore backs on any of my horses. I will order a couple more next year for sure from her. I don't have any experience with 5 star pads but they must also be good since they are so popular. |
