| First off, let me start by saying I am going to the doctor ASAP, but was just curious to talk to some that work in the medical field.
Back in October I started to have bouts of dizziness. At first I just thought vertigo (which I had never had before) and left it at that. But now over the past month patterns have been forming. I am dizzy on a regular basis, sometimes shaky, have had horrible headaches (which I could count on one hand how many times in my life I have had headaches like these) and have gotten a few mouth sores in my mouth.
Thinking I was just paranoid I just made it a point to drink tons of water. I started my cycle a few days ago and it was a totally different color (sorry if that is TMI) but thought that was odd.
Today was the straw that broke the camels back. I spent about three hours outside, was dressed in coveralls and a nice big jacket. I could NOT GET WARM. My body ached so horrible I could not move for five hours, had no appetite. Made it a point to drink a lot of gatorade, and I fell asleep. Just woke up and now I feel completly fine.
What the heck is wrong with me?! Is this even normal? I wonder if I am anemic? Yesterday I had a dizzy spell to the point it made me cross eyed and I almost passed out...which that kind freaked me out.
Anyways currently drinking tons of fluids and hoping to get into the doctor ASAP. Just curious to hear what others have to say... |

| When you go see the doctor
Make sure you get routine blood work
In addition ask for ferritin levels (if ferritin is low you could be anemic even if CBC normal)
Check thyroid, tsh, t3' t4 free (the last two the free may be mixed up cannot remember off the top of my head) these can cause dizziness, poor thermoregulation.
The sores in mouth this is the tricky one, could be autoimmune disease, could be viral disease, if sexually active with multiple partners even with protection I would suggest AIDS testing as early stages it can mimic other diseases.
If you are drinking lots of water, and urinating frequently, getting the shakes could be diabetes, regular blood work will test random blood sugar, if you are concerned can ask for an A1C test as this will tell you what your blood sugar runs on average in the past month.
If bloodwork comes back normal then I would be looking at CT, or MRI to rule out brain Tumor.
This is where I would start if this was me |

| Thanks not worried about STDS, been with hubby for 10 years now. My mom and dad both have a history of high blood pressure and are on meds for it. No shortness of breath or problems breathing. Not too tired. I tend to go go go. |

Sounds like a metabolic issue, but could be something else too |

| Seeing the dr later today thank God!!!! I am feeling great at the moment. That is what is weird sometimes I am fine and then it just hits me and I feel horrible. Then as quickly as it hits it goes away after a few hours. |

Location: Mississippi | I was experiencing alot of the same symptoms as you about a year ago. I have never passed out but get extremely dizzy when standing and am always tired plus headaches and a lot of other different issues. After about 5 different doctors and a ton of tests, I was finally diagnosed with postural orthostatic tachycardia (POTS)/autonomic dysfunction. My blood pressure is very low and when I stand, my heart rate shoots up to the equivilant of running 4 blocks. Alot of docs don't know about this so it may be worth mentioning. They are still trying to get me regulated with different meds and I hope that they find a good combination soon - it's really slowed down my normally active lifestyle. |

| I totally feel like a wimp! I have vertigo due to water behind my ear drums from a minor infection!
On the mend now, the sores in my mouth he said are likely from stress?

Location: Lost in the corn of Iowa. | Have you had an EKG lately? Any history of Atrial fibrillation in the family, or abnormal heart rythms? What you can possibly expect is an EKG, blood work, and possibly a cardiac event monitor. Esp if you are dizzy, weak, light headed and feel like you could possibly pass out. Have you been feeling unusually thirsty lately? If you eat a lot of carbs like bread, potatoes, bananas pasta, etc. and after a few hours do you feel drained. This could be your glucose levels bottoming out. The female stuff could be life changes like menopause, ovarian cysts or simple stress. I'm not sure of you age, that's why I say poss onset of menopause. Going to the Dr. is a smart place to start. This is some of the stuff as a RT that I see day to day. Minus the female stuff. Hope this helps a little. |
