Say what you will about Bush. He's a good man. He wrote a book about his dad, "41", and I think I'm going to read it. I enjoyed the anecdotes he told about his father.
I sure miss both of them, even if I didn't always agree with what they did.
It would sure be nice to have someone with his character and values back in the White House.

He has the aura and presence of an "American" as all our past presidents, good and bad, did.  Obama......the guys just gives me the creeps.   Health care, amnesty, fossil fuel vs green energy, you have to meet in the middle at least.  He doesn't even try.

Bush refuses to trash or openly criticize another president, same as Bush 41. He says he won't do it because he thinks it drives the country apart and does no good. He did admit that Obama is not popular in Texas, which everyone in the country knows, but even so, the last time Obama came to Texas, Bush 41 was still waiting for him in his wheelchair at the bottom of the stairs. That's what you call class...pure class. With both 41 and 43 it was not about them......with Obama, it's all about him. Laura Bush is just as classy. Not even the Progressives could criticize her for anything whatsoever. She just exudes class and elegance, like her mother-in-law.
Michelle, on the other hand, seems eternally pis$ed off and trashy. She'll probably follow in Hillary's footsteps and run for office as well.

I loved it when Hannity asked W about meeting O at the plane.  I had to rewind that a couple times.

George W asked his dad what was the secret behind their stable marriage where they just never argued or fought. Bush, 41, said "We were both willing to go three quarters of the way." I have to remember that.

I've always really liked that entire family. I don't think you will meet a group of people that loves America more.

I read somewhere that the Bush's actually held Christmas either a few days before Christmas or a few days after do that the Secret Service Agents could be with their families on Christmas.
Like what was already said, I never agreed with everything he did, heck--I never agreed with everything Reagan did, but I do think he is a good man and his intentions were always in the right place.

I love the stories about when W was a hellion. Once when he was a little boy he stole some toy soldiers from a some store. His dad saw him playing on the floor with them and peered at the little W over his glasses and asked, "Where did you get those?" Bush 43 fumbled for words and stammered, eventually confessing his theft. His dad didn't yell or spank him. He just said, "Come with me", and they marched into the dime store where Bush 41 said, "My son has something to tell you." Little George confessed and said it was a horrible guilt trip experience. He promised to pay for the toys and his dad didn't even look at him for a while. W said that sometimes his dad didn't even have to say anything....just a glare or a look, and little W would feel like an idiot.

W quoted something his dad said that really stuck with me. Whenever W or any of his brothers was being a handful, George 41 would always say: "I will always love you, son, and nothing you do can change that....so stop trying."
